Do you feel guilty about downloading pirated movies, TV shows or music? Don’t worry, apparently no one does. ‘Why do people pirate? A neuroimaging investigation’ recently published in Social Neurosciences, looks into what happens in the brains of people when they pirate. It found that there was much more activity in the guilt area of the brain when people imagined stealing physical objects. Respondents were more likely to steal intangible things like digital content, and not feel bad about it.
