In a surprising move, President Donald Trump ordered to strike the government-controlled Shayrat base, in central Syria. The strike comes after a chemical strike done earlier this week, allegedly done by the Syrian government under orders of President Bashar al-Assad. Russia has stated the strike is an ‘aggression against a member of the United Nations’. The United Nations Security Council is assessing the situation.

Would this change the political landscape and would the United Nations act together to solve the crisis in Syria?
