An Indigenous program in the Northern Territory is delivering vital veterinary care to companion animals.

The program called Western Arnhem Land Dog Health Program, or WALDHeP, is led by the University of Melbourne, and provides essential veterinary care such as desexing and treatment for parasites.

The program is informed by a One Health framework, a sentiment which has long been a part of Indigenous knowledge, but one which is relatively new in terms of Western medicine.
