Western embassies around the world have tightened security today, with fears that Al Qaeda will launch revenge attacks following the US assassination of Osama bin Laden. Many world leaders have welcomed the killing of bin Laden but some experts warn of a backlash. Overnight in the US celebrations continued with many politicians viewing the killing as a major success in the so called War on terror. So is bin Laden’s demise a win for the US and its allies, and will it brings us any closer to an end to the long running Afghan conflict?
