Doctors fear breaches of patient confidentiality

As part of a crackdown on medical fraud, the Federal Government wants to access confidential patient records. The Australian Medical Association told the ABC earlier this week that their doctors are prepared to go to jail rather then hand over the confidential information. The Australian Privacy Commission are opposed to the idea because it will allow access to peoples private information by numerous parties.
