A recent report from the Australian Council for Educational Research has concluded the performance of Australian high school students has been in steady decline since the turn of the century. Key subjects including mathematics, science and literacy have all felt a negative trend in performance over the past 15 years.

This negative reflection suggests that significant changes to Australia’s educational system are in dire need.  Suggestions for the implication of more modern teaching methods, as well as greater restrictions on the selection and training of teachers, are currently being contemplated.
