The Dutch owned Margiris super-trawler is on its way to Australian waters to begin fishing its 18,000 tonne quota. The super-trawler has been met with fierce debate over the last few months, with 35,000 people signing a petition to stop the boat from fishing its quota. Today the debate was brought up by MP Andrew Wilkie in Federal Parliament.

Rebecca Hubbard, from Environment Tasmania is part of the group Stop the Super Trawler, which organised the petition. Hubbard is concerned that the Margiris will deplete local fish populations.
