Fifteen years ago Dr John Harrison was one of Australia’s highest-profile alternative practitioners, with some outspoken views about traditional medical practices. But an allegation made against him by a seriously mentally ill woman changed all that. Despite the woman’s prior history of making similar accusations, the medical tribunal backed her story and disbarred Dr Harrison for life, destroying his career. Journalist Sue Williams has written a book investigating why the medical establishment turned on one of its own. John Harrison and Sue Williams both spoke to Annie Hastwell.
