Commentator Susan Mitchell says the Prime mInister has done well to withstand the smear campaign. She believes the Opposition will now back off and use the next sittings to produce real policies.

The issue of Julia Gillard’s fitness to remain in office dominated today’s final Federal Parliament sittings. The Prime Minister eventually suspended Question Time and gave the Opposition leader an ultimatum but nothing was resolved.
