Its been widely report in the media that Guantanamo Bay detainee David Hicks has won his bid to achieve British Citizenship. Unlike its Australian counterpart, the Brisih government has actively campaigned to have all British citizens released from the US military installation. David is hoping this will be the case for him if he also becomes a Brit. But David Hick’s lawyers are still seeking confirmation from British authorities on the final outcome of that decision – and as we go to air, the United Kingdom is just starting its working day so the final outcome is not yet known. I got an update a short time ago from Tasia Pertsinidis, spokesperson for the Adelaide-based group A Fair Go for David.
