CSIRO bid to gag emissions trading scheme policy attack

The CSIRO has moved to stop the publication of a scientific report, pending an internal review. The problem is that the findings of Dr Clive Spash are critical of the Rudd Government’s Emissions Trading Scheme. Since last year, the CSIRO has had a charter which prevents employees from commenting on political issues. But is it not fitting that the findings of a publicly funded scientist be released in the public interest, and to inform public debate?
