The Queensland government’s much vaunted $5.4 billion Brisbane Cross River rail project, has had a haphazard gestation.

Planned as a congestion busting initiative to include new underground rail tunnels and stations, it has suffered through six years of delays, changes of government, design alterations, and more recently  overlooked for funding from the Federal Budget.
