Colonel Gadaffi’s son has vowed on Libyan television that his father’s Government will fight to the end, predicting that further protests will push the country into civil war. His comments come after a weekend of unrest…although there’s been a government clamp down on communications, reports of mercenaries from Chad firing on crowds and casualties in their hundreds have leaked out to the international media. The violence in Libya is in stark contrast to the unrest in Egypt, where for the most part security forces refused to fire on protestors. But while the Gadaffi regime remains defiant in the face of continuing protests, some observers say the bloody clashes could signal the end of leader Moammar Gaddafi’s regime.
