Only 30 percent of Australians still even use cash and that number has likely dropped over the past months. During the pandemic notes and coins have been regarded  as unclean and refused in many shops. Also staying home and shopping online has brought many people closer to their credit cards. But those who need to use  cash need to be legally protected.
