Communicating sex: the problem with male sexual dysfunction

Driving home during peak hour traffic, many Australians have been asked if they want longer lasting sex. The question is plastered across giant red billboards along roads in all of our states. But this question, or the way it’s phrased, is about to change, after the Advertising Standards Bureau (ASB) ruled the billboards offensive. The Advanced Medical Institute, a commercial enterprise that offers treatment for premature ejaculation and erectile dysfunction, is responsible for the ads. The ASB’s ruling highlights the taboos within our society regarding male sexual dysfunction, and the difficulty of getting men to seek treatment.
