In a move to assist unemployed young people, the Coalition government has begun to roll out the controversial Youth Jobs PaTH program in partnership with the Australia Retail Association.

The PaTH initiative is expected to provide 10,000 internships in the retail sector over the next four years for jobless young people currently receiving Centrelink payments.

The program has come under fire as trade unions and the ALP have called the Coalition’s plan exploitative.
