An independent investigation by Environmental Justice Australia has revealed suspicious findings of potentially under-reported levels of toxic pollution from lead New South Wales coal power stations.

The power stations self-report all of their pollution data and have aroused suspicion by claiming they have managed to decrease their toxic emissions whilst increasing energy output.

The Environment Protection Agency was also contacted for a statement:

“The EPA is currently looking at the allegations power stations in NSW may not be accurately reporting their emissions. We will provide further information when we are able. The EPA is committed to reducing pollution and continues to work with licensed industry operators to ensure they meet their legal obligations.”
