Old weather records will be a thing of the past for Australian weather forecasts as climate change has rendered old weather data unreliable to predict the future.

Instead the Bureau will use new technology for the seasonal outlook this winter.Using a combination of up-to-date data, the bureau will be able to predict more accurately what the season will bring.Better technology is one of the reasons for the more refined model but climate change has also been a major driver for the shift.
