In 2000 and 2004 George Bush Jnr relied heavily on the evangelical Christian vote in the United States to gain and maintain his seat in the White House. However, a number of voters from this constituency, normally loyal to the conservative Republican Party, are starting to rethink their whole approach to the Bush Administration. And its got everything to do with God and who his people are running the planet. With climate change in the news now more than ever, in the past year a new philospohical approach for Christians and their treatment of the planet has emerged. Apparently, God’s not happy with what’s going down on Earth or with those that are managing it. This new apporach to environmentalism ha sits own name: Creation care. Erica Vowles spoke with the chief lobbyst of the National Association of Evangelicals, Richard Cizik, who explained what Creation Care is all about.
