On St Patrick’s day the National Museum of Australia has opened an exhibition on the Irish contribution to Australian history. It’s called “Not Just Ned” and though it does feature the armour of the Kelly gang it aims to look past the bushranger and drinker stereotypes of the Irish and celebrate their better qualities and achievements in politics and other areas of community life.
