The Prime Minister met the head of AGL to discuss the future of Liddell Coal Power Station.

Malcolm Turnbull has talked down a bid by the Nationals for the government to reject a clean energy target.

The issue arose today during question time as the lower house debated the future of Australia’s electricity grid.

Experts have called for the government to adopt the proposed clean energy target to restore confidence and security in the sector.

The clean energy target will replace the renewable energy target which expires in 2020.
