The Obama Administration will not seek prosecution of CIA employees that tortured prisoners during the so-called ‘War on Terror’. The announcement came as Obama released tell-all Bush Administration memos about CIA interrogation techniques. The memos were released due to a Freedom of Information lawsuit by the American Civil Liberties Union. Both sides of US politics are up in arms. Obama says this is a time for reflection, not retribution and blame. But is this a fair argument when it comes to torture? Can America simply choose to forget its recent past?
