Barrett Adolescent Centre helps kids aged between 13- and 17-year-olds. It provides support to children with mental health issues, and it is yet another casualty of the the QLD State government cost cutting measures. This will leave a bigger gap in the long term health facilities available for sick kids.

For 30 years, the Barrett Adolescent Centre has provided live-in care for teenagers with severe psychiatric and psychological problems. Unfortunately, this mental health facility faces closure due to state government cost-cutting, but patients are against this decision of the government.
