It’s that time of the year when it’s bitterly cold and wet across parts of Australia. And for the over 100,000 people that are homeless on any given night of the year in Australia, it’s especially miserable.The indigenous community is hit particularly hard, making up 25 per cent of the homeless population. Yet while housing affordability has been an issue this election, homelessness doesn’t seem to be on the radar. That’s something the leaders of Australia’s largest charities want to change. They want the government to commit to halving homelessness by 2025.
