Becoming a carer is usually a choice people do not choose to make. 30 per cent of Australians are currently looking after a family member or a friend without any expectation of compensation. However, many Aussie’s believe this should change and that carers are looked after as much as they do for others.

River Night, co-founder of Developing Australian Communities and Thea Calzoni, a full-time carer of her intellectually disabled son both share their experiences and expertise on how carers can manage themselves and what government funded organisations like the NDIS should do to help.
