Four years on since then Prime Minister Kevin Rudd invested $300 million in a global institute for carbon capture storage, renewable energy advocates say the technology is still unproven. Industry and government representatives are meeting in Perth over the next three days to discuss the international progress on carbon capture technology. Organisers of the conference say carbon capture plays a key complementary role in Australia’s approach to reducing emissions.
