Australia has been saddened this week by news that Tasmanian Premier Jim Bacon is leaving politics, diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer. While standing aside, he announced plans to return Cape Barron Island to traditional aboriginal owners. I asked the Tasmanian Aboriginal Centre’s Michael Mansell and State Secretary Trudy Maluga for their responses to the announcement.
