Prior to the Iraq war, millions of people were mobilized around the world in protests that aimed to stop the invasion of US forces in February 2003. Next month, the Stop the War Coalition will be hoping the replicate the success of those protests and draw attention to the conflict which two years on continues to claim lives. But can enough popular sentiment be mobilized around the world to end the Iraq occupation? Chris Nineham is one a member of the Steering Committee from Stop the War Co-alition in the UK. In Australia for the Sydney Social Forum, he says that now more than ever, the Governments of the UK, US and Australia are susceptible to anti-war sentiment. He spoke earlier about whether enough protesters around the globe can be roused into action.
