Cambodian Refugee finds Asylum in France with a $260,000 bill from his detention in Australia

Today a Cambodian journalist, persecuted in his home country and detained in Australia for the last three years, has finally found refuge in France. The Australian government sent him on his way with a bill for the amount of $260,000 to cover his stay at Villawood detention centre. Rosie Scott from the organisation International Pen, a worldwide association of writers works to help writers suffering from oppressive regimes, and has worked closely with the Cambodian journalist who has asked to remain nameless due to the ongoing risk to his family.
