Following the recent passing of a prominent Indigenous leader in Central Australia, calls have emerged for primary school children to be taught more about prominent Indigenous figures. Some educators say all Australian children need to know more about the role Indigenous leaders play in the Australian community. Yipirinya School Principal Ken Langford-Smith, in Alice Springs, says it is important to educate children on more localised Australian issues.
