Calls for humanitarian corridors in Syria divides international community

As the conflict in Syria worsens, the French foreign affairs minister is urging the global community to support the creation of “humanitarian corridors” to shield citizens and aid workers.

These would deliver medical products and aid to the most affected areas and armed forces could be used for protection.  But a number of human rights groups reject the plan and are looking elsewhere, out of concern the corridors will place a target on hospitals by militarising aid.
