Civil rights campaigners are calling for an urgent review of Australia’s terrorism laws. They claim that detainees are being stripped of their basic human rights. The Haneef case is one example they say, of how the new legislation can go wrong. They are hoping that this will put pressure on the Rudd government to scrap the new law. So are the libertarians right in saying it’s unconstitutional or unlawful?
