A forum in Adelaide tonight will cover a plan to replace Port Augusta’s ageing coal-fired power stations with solar thermal power plants.

Renewable energy think tank Beyond Zero Emissions are launching their report ‘Repowering Port Augusta’. It presents the economic and environmental impacts of the coal-station and how a solar thermal plant will improve the cost people pay in electricity. Mark Ogge from Beyond Zero Emissions spoke about how solar thermal stations are run successfully all over the world and says it is Australia’s turn to get on board.
