California court bans kangaroo

The Californian supreme court has this week handed down a ruling prohibiting the trade in kangaroo skin. Animal rights activists won their case against footwear giant ADIDAS, manufacturers of the ‘Predator’ soccer boot made famous by new Californian resident, David Beckham. The ruling has prompted renewed calls for the Kangaroo trade to be overhauled, or even outlawed in Australia amidst claims of brutally and malpractice within the industry.
