In his budget reply yesterday, Anthony Albanese pledged to reform the childcare sector after the pandemic hit it hard, and allowing more women to be in the workforce.

However, educators and quality education were left out in the budget, raising concerns about the future of the sector.

During the pandemic, the Australian government supported the sector with free childcare, but in September, the support ended.

While the three main political parties have policies around childcare, experts are concerned that the inequality gap and the educators’ payment is not in the agenda, but are happy the sector is finally being given proper attention.
