Single parents have been targeted with policy changes to welfare payments in the delivery of yesterdays budget. Single parents will be transfered from the Parental Payment scheme to Newstart once their youngest child turns eight years old, amounting to a cut of $60 per week to their allowance. However the government did announce a Supplimentary Allownace in the budget, amound to an extra four dollars per week.
