The age of 18 is a stressful transition period for all young adults, but particularly more so for those in foster care. Most periods of foster care conclude at this age, leaving those who are already under severe amounts of pressure – finalising education or transitioning in full time employment – to deal with the added stress of finding a new residence. The Create Foundation have recognised this issue, and, through developing and distributing their ‘go your own way’ kit, are helping great numbers of foster children transition smoothly into adulthood.
