This year the Prime Minister’s Literary Award went to Meredith Lake’s The Bible in Australia, but not everyone was pleased with the pick.

The controversial book about the role that the Bible has played in Australian history, from colonial times to present day, explores expressions of the Bible’s teachings from tattoos to atheist’s opinions, and offers a new perspective on Christianity in Australia’s society.
