What happens to a country’s identity and history when its monuments, temples, artifacts and ancient treasures have been shot at, burnt, smashed, ruined or blown up with dynamite? An art exhibition opening today at the High Court of Australia shows a range of photographs of the monuments, treasures, ancient cities and artifacts that have been ruined by war and extremists over the last several decades around the world.
