In the same way that Europeans weren’t aware the black swan existed before coming to Australia,  Kamilaroi man Dean Foley believes Australians are unaware of the amazing work being done by Indigenous entrepreneurs.

Australia’s first Indigenous startup accelerator, Barayamal, aims to change this. Mentoring, funding, and supporting indigenous startups, Dean Foley, the founder, wants to increase the amount of self-employed Indigenous Australians.

For all the talk of an ‘innovation nation’ and ‘closing the gap’ Barayamal is the first project of its kind which focuses on creating jobs for and by Indigenous peoples.
