Australia’s history tends to be told in terms of exploration and Anzacs, or more recently Stolen Generations and massacres. Historian Mark McKenna says to truly understand and feel a sense of belonging to the country there is a need to unearth the stories of early contact between Aboriginal Australians and the newly arrived British. In From The Edge, Australia’s Lost Histories he tells four remarkable tales from little known parts of the country, and includes  the indigenous version of these events.
