All around the country, Australians are preparing celebrations for the canonisation of Australia’s first Saint, Mary Mackillop. Along with five other men and women from countries around the work, Australia’s first Saint is being honoured in many ways. A memorial Building in Penola, South Australia and a park in Ipswich, Queensland are just of the few monuments to our first Saint. Rebekah Ison looks into what Australia’s first saint was really all about.
