International Women’s Day is a time for everyone to champion change for the future, but it is also a time to reflect back on the work of women past.

One of the areas that has seen a lot of change is access to abortion.

While Australia may stack up well when compared to elsewhere around the world, access is restricted in remote areas and in most states and territories the procedure is expensive.

Additionally, the stigma that still exists around abortion makes it difficult for women to both access and speak up about the issue.
