Australian’s murder used to justify troop build-up in West Papua

The killing of an Australian mine worker in West Papua has been used to justify a troop build-up in the disputed province. West Papuan activists today blamed the Indonesian military for Saturday’s attack near the Freeport mine. But Indonesian police maintain that West Papuan independence fighters are responsible. Australian Federal Police have arrived in the province to assist with the investigation.
