Last night the Albanese government announced a 2.7% increase in foreign aid funding in the 2025-26 Federal Budget. With this increase, aid will receive $5.07 billion or around 0.65% of the entire budget.

While not the growth that all organisations were hoping for, this stable support for aid is very welcome among an international landscape dominated by cuts to humanitarian programs, none more drastic than the Trump administration’s USAID.
