While all of us of will experience the effects of climate change most are not facing the inevitable disappearance of our country.

Yet this is the case for over 100 thousand inhabitants of Kiribati, as well as other low-lying island states across the planet.

The small island nation is sinking below sea level in the central Pacific Ocean, and could be considered the canary in the coal mine when it comes to climate change.
