Housing is regarded as a human right by the United Nations, yet for many Australians, it’s a pressure point. For those in the rental market, rates of rental stress are only heightening.

Architectural design of affordable housing could be one means of increasing access to the housing market.

Julia Andre spoke with Philip Thalis, a practising architect and City of Sydney councillor on  the state and federal government’s failing in providing affordable housing.
