Australia and East Timor’s new maritime (dis)agreement

Australian Foreign Minister, Julie Bishop and East Timor deputy minister for the Delimitation of Borders, Agio Pereira today signed a new treaty over their maritime border.

Minister Bishop calls it “an historic day for both our nations” that would end a boundary dispute existing between them since 2002.

But is the new treaty truly advantageous to both countries?
