A 29 year old asylum seeker has died after setting himself on fire, raising questions about immigration policy. A refugee spokesman has said he feared being sent back to Sri Lanka. Leo Seemanpillai had been waiting for more than 18 months to find out if he could stay in Australia. Experts say being in limbo is driving asylum seekers to desperate measures. They fear that cuts to legal aid and expected changes to the Refugee Review Tribunal will make the situation worse.
