This weekend the small heritage town of Burra is host to archaeologists and indigenous people from all over Australia and the world. There will be a sharing of culture and also a discussion about intellectual property and indigenous culture and history. The local Ngadjuri people currently can’t access a lot of their history after the anthropologist who studied it embargoed his notes after his death. Vincent Copley hopes this weekend will sort out that situation, and make links between his people and locals who may have important indigenous heritage sites on their land.
